Hello Barn Friends,
If there's one thing the past week has reminded us, it's how deeply connected this community is.
We're incredibly thankful that Sisters remained safe from the harrowing Akawa Butte Fire, and we're full of hope as the forward progression has stopped and the agencies have continued to mop up, extinguish hot spots, and strengthen containment lines. To every firefighter, pilot, dispatcher, emergency responder, and agency that has worked tirelessly to protect our town, thank you. Your skill, endurance, and unwavering commitment have carried this community through an incredibly stressful week and for that we are endlessly grateful.
At the same time, we know not everyone in Central Oregon has been as fortunate. Our hearts are with the families who have lost homes, those who have been evacuated, and the communities continuing to face uncertainty as fires burn across our region. We're thinking of you, and we're grateful for everyone working to keep our neighbors safe.
While the smoke has settled elsewhere and the blue skies remain in Sisters, something else has settled in town… a noticeable quiet. Visitors have understandably changed their plans and our local businesses are feeling the impact. This is one of those moments when choosing to shop local means more now than ever.
If you're in town, grab a meal from your favorite spot, enjoy a drink with friends, browse a local shop, or pick up produce from one of our incredible farms. If you're away, consider purchasing a gift card to use when you return. Every meal shared, every purchase made, and every show of support helps keep this community vibrant.
Here at The Barn, we remain open and optimistic. We look forward to welcoming you in for a meal, a drink, or even some live music later on this week.
This week we will host Joel Chadd on Friday & Double Jump (Mason is back y’all) on Saturday. We could all use a few good songs, familiar faces, and a reason to gather. Our concerts runs from 6 PM to 8 PM. If there is a situation that occurs where gathering would be unsafe, we will postpone. Please keep an eye on our socials for any updates.
Thank you for continuing to support local businesses, for checking in on your neighbors, and for showing the resilience and kindness that make Sisters such a special place to call home.
We hope see you at The Barn.
